A day after CBI court in Lucknow sent Unnao rape accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar to 7 days custody, the uncle of 16-year-old victim's girl has claimed that the saffron party lawmaker goons are threatening his villagers to keep silent on the issue.

Former Forest Minister Lal Singh and Industries Minister Chandra Prakash Ganga had addressed a rally organised by a pro-Hindu group Hindu Ekta Manch in March in support of the accused in the Kathua case.

On Friday, the Central Bureau of Investigation arrested Sengar in connection with the alleged rape of 17-year-old-girl in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district.

"Mehbooba Mufti should introspect. what had the two ministers (who resigned) done?" The victim later told media persons that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Thursday statement that the guilty will be brought to book was very reassuring and that he now hoped that justice will be done in her case. It was found that she was held captive under the influence of sedatives in a Hindu prayer hall maintained by one of the accused. "Yes, there was some indiscretion but they never tried to hamper the investigation". On the other hand, the PCC chief, GA Mir, has also demanded that the case should be handed over to the CBI so that the real culprits could be arrested. Both the alliance partners - the BJP and the PDP - had separate legislature party meetings in Srinagar and Jammu on Saturday to discuss the situation arising out of the polarisation in the state over the rape-cum-murder of the girl.

The victim's family also alleged that the accused MLA's brother and his companions also raped the woman, reports ANI.

"The campaign calling them pro-rapist is untrue and without any basis, " Madhav said.

Lal Singh said their primary responsibility was to maintain peace and communal harmony in the state. According to victim's family, Shashi Singh stood outside the room as a guard while Kuldeep Singh was raping the girl.
