It's a significant bounce back for the Gem State since the 2008 recession when unemployment surged as high as 9.6 percent. People looking for work are counted in the labor force.
Manatee County had 172,531 of a total labor force of 178,556 employed last month for a 3.4 percent jobless rate.
The unemployment rates in Orange County and Seminole County dropped to 3.2 percent for March, down from 3.3 percent in February, the lowest in more than 10 years. "A bad month or two could erase this streak and more months of solid growth are needed to take up the remaining slack in our labor market".
The information sector added 700 jobs.

The unemployment rate was below the 4.9 percent level of a year ago, the state Employment Development Department reported. That has denied county coffers upwards of $1.2 million a year in revenue.
The rate for the Waco metro area rose slightly from 3.7 percent in February to 3.8 percent in March.
For the second month in a row, education & health services experienced the largest gain.
Also of note, non-farm jobs increased by 1,400 jobs in March, while year-over-year non-farm jobs grew by 3.3 percent to 23,300 jobs.
Job gains in recent years, then, have been part of the recovery process, and there is still a ways to go. There was a decrease of 100 federal jobs. "In fact, our construction industry is recording its highest weekly wages in more than a decade". Over the year, Trade, Transportation and Utilities gained 1,900 (+0.3%) jobs.
