Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Won't Have A Single Player Campaign

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has, according to multiple sources, no single-player campaign mode. According to Polygon, Black Ops 4 will be the first Call of Duty game to ditch the single-player campaign. Battle Royale modes, where gamers fight to the death until only one player survives to take home the chicken dinner are incredibly popular on traditional consoles, PC, and mobile devices.

Many fans are waiting for the launch of Activision's Call of Duty Black Ops 4, taking the action back into modern times after the last WW2 game. Charlie Intel reported Tuesday night that sources close to the developers say battle royale will be available in the game.

What platforms will Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 be available on? While unclear, it sounds like there may have been plans at one point but the team wouldn't have been able to complete it before launching in October and had to scrap what they created. While sacrificing the entire story mode of Black Ops 4 may be a bold decision to make, replacing it with a bloodthirsty battle royale is one way to divert attention away from the issue. Battle Royale will apparently have its own separate launcher, and will continue to be updated each year with new content based on the next annual Call of Duty game.

Later this year, the 15th main franchise Call of Duty title will arrive.

A new collection of potential Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 leaks suggest that the game could feature both boots on the ground and jetpack mechanics.

Activision declined to comment on the report.

We will have to wait for confirmations and details from the community reveal event on May 17 for further information, though what we anticipate the most will be how the public will react to the news, if true. It's a huge investment, featuring voice acting talent (Hollywood stars like Kevin Spacey, Game of Thrones' Kit Harrington, and rapper Ice Cube have all played major roles) and no small amount of design resources for a mode that most players only spend a few hours with anyway. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 arrives on shelves and digital stores October 12, 2018, on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.
