"If you vote early, you're off the list". The ID can be a voter registration card, a valid in- or out-of-state driver's license, a medical card or a hunting license, to name a few.

Democrat Kathy Manning is expected to emerge victorious in the her 13th district primary ready to take on freshman incumbent Congressman Ted Budd, one of the state's 10 GOP congressional seats considered "flippable".

Voting on Election Day isn't like early voting, where anyone in a county can vote at any early voting polling place.

In Marion County, early voting will be at the courthouse for both weeks, but there will also be early voting held in Bull Shoals from Monday through Friday, April 14-18.

More than 22,600 voters cast ballots in the Senate race in which Republican businessman Mike Braun defeated U.S. Reps.

Races that garnered the most votes were for federal offices including U.S. Senate and U.S. House.

This year's election features two open congressional seats and the governor's office. Still, not all will have a primary.

As in the past, our primary elections always have a much smaller percentage of registered voters casting their ballots than those voting in the general election. WRAL.com has an interactive map to see how your district - and the incumbents on your ballot - have been affected. One precinct in a North Carolina county will continue to accept voters briefly past the statewide closing time for the polls after the location failed to open its doors on time for the primary.

While turnout was slow compared to the 2016 primary election, which featured hard-to-miss presidential primaries in both major parties and resulted in local turnout topping 40 percent, it surpassed the 2014 midterm primary at 16.44 percent.

Election turnout in IN in the 2016 general election was low. "This has nothing to do with the totals on the election".
