Those are the accounts by middle school students in IN about their science teacher and former Saluki Jason Seaman.

The teacher was identified as Jason Seaman by the Indianapolis Star and other local media. "We will spend the next days and weeks processing what happened and why", the Whistler family statement said.

IndyStar is getting conflicting information about how Seaman intervened, but many students and their parents have said he saved the lives of his students.

"I want to let everyone know that I was injured but am doing great", the statement said.

Former SIU-Head Coach and Current Acting Director of Athletics, Jerry Kill, said he is absolutely not surprised by what Seaman did.

Before Jason Seaman was a national hero or a science teacher, he was a football player at Southern Illinois University.

"I have no words because it was such an fantastic act of caring", she said.
