On Friday afternoon, she managed to convince Floyd to let her bring their dog to the vet.
Authorities say Floyd prevented the woman from leaving home for two days. At one point, they struggled over a handgun that fired inside the house.
When they arrived at DeLand Animal Hospital, the 28-year-old Reichle covertly slipped a handwritten note to a worker.
On the drive to the vet, Floyd allegedly pointed the gun at his girlfriend, threatening to kill her and her family. "Please don't let him know", the note read. On Friday, the victim persuaded Floyd to let her take her dog to DeLand Animal Hospital, but Floyd insisted on going with her, deputies said.

Floyd is charged with domestic violence, aggravated assault with a firearm, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and simple battery. When the woman went to the bathroom, she was able to slip a note to a staff member and the vet proceeded to call the police.
Floyd has a criminal history that includes burglary, possession and sale of drugs and grand theft motor vehicle, for which he was convicted in 2016, and sent to state prison for more than a year.
Volusia County sheriff's deputies then took a "visibly injured" Reichle to Florida Hospital DeLand where she was treated for a head injury, a black eye and bruised arms. Police went to the home and say they found bullet holes in the walls.
