While food holidays have exploded in popularity in recent years and now dominate the American calendar, National Donut Day has a longer history than most other culinary celebrations. Anyone who purchases a pizza from Papa John's online on Friday will receive a free order of the donut holes. Donut Day is held the first Friday of June each year and commemorates "Donut Lassies", female volunteers for The Salvation Army in World War I, who provided writing supplies, stamps, clothes-mending and home-cooked meals (including donuts) to soldiers on the front lines.

Too busy Friday? Stop in anytime from June 2-6 to enjoy any size or donut combo buy-one-get-one free. Their donut-shaped Granny Smith apple slices are covered in chocolate and a variety of toppings.
Jocelyn's Donuts will give away free original glazed donuts with any drink purchased from the coffee bar. Anyone wearing Sugar Shack gear on Friday, June 1, gets a free house donut as well.
