Ronaldo and Neymar could play for Madrid together - Marcelo

The Portuguese worldwide helped Real Madrid to four UCL titles in the last five years, and the EURO16 win with Portugal has made him one of the best players the game has ever seen.

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Real Madrid this summer and his decision is "irreversible", according to reports in Portugal.

The reigning Ballon d'Or victor claimed he will be talking about his future in the days to come, but is yet to reaffirm the club's fans that he is staying in Spain for another year. "If the president wants to sign someone, the president will sign him".

Neymar became the most expensive player in history last summer when he moved from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth nearly £200m.

Cristiano Ronaldo's son took to the Estadio da Luz pitch on Thursday following Portugal's 3-0 friendly win over Algeria to show off his football skills. And Real Madrid's doors are always open for Neymar.

Five-time Ballon d'Or victor Ronaldo senior went scoreless in his 150th global appearance, so the emergence of a new challenger - family or otherwise - might come as handy motivation on the eve of the World Cup. "One day Neymar will play for Real Madrid".

"I've yet to understand how the Ballon D'or works", said Marcelo. "I don't know when".

Marcelo also said that five-time Ballon d'Or victor Ronaldo was in line to take the trophy again for 2018, while Neymar would win it for sure in future as he would "be as good as Cristiano" over time.

"To me, Ronaldo is the world's greatest right now and I have no doubt in my mind that Neymar will be just as good".

Madrid need to be able to replace Ronaldo at some stage, and they can't allow him to stand in the way of that. "Just after winning was not the best moment".
