For his next film, Chazelle is going to space - and he's taking Ryan Gosling with him.

As noted by NME, the trailer first appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live", where Gosling and Kimmel wore spacesuits for the "first-ever interview in space".

Ryan Gosling takes on First Man, based on the book First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong by author James R. Hansen, which was published by Simon & Schuster in 2005.

First Man, the riveting story of NASA's mission to land a man on the moon, focuses on Neil Armstrong and the years 1961-1969. For First Man, he's packing him into a rocket and sending him to the moon.

Last time they worked together, Damien Chazelle had Ryan Gosling singing and dancing through Los Angeles for La La Land, which kicked off with Another Day Of Sun. Neil Armstrong faces questions from politicians, and is even asked by his son, "Do you think you're coming back?" The film-which co-stars Claire Foy, Corey Stoll, Kyle Chandler, and Jason Clarke-is set to hit USA theaters October 12.

Chazelle's filmmaking talents, accompanied by Gosling and Foy's acting chops, are sure to make First Man a memorable, visceral account of one of the most iconic moments in US history - and a top contender come awards season.

"First Man" was written by Josh Singer ("Spotlight") and Nicole Perlman ("Guardians of the Galaxy"), and also stars Patrick Fugit, Ciaran Hinds, Ethan Embry, and Shea Whigham.
