In India, Apple will be pricing the 13-inch MacBook Pro and the 15-inch MacBook Pro at Rs 149,990 and Rs 199,990 respectively. The new 13-inch MacBook Pro features up to 8th-generation quad-core Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors (up to 2.7GHz with Turbo Boost up to 4.5GHz), said to be twice as fast as the previous generation.
The computers start at $1,800 for the smaller model and $2,400 for the larger version; with all the bells and whistles added, the most expensive version of the new models could cost $6,700. They come with new processors, up to 32GB of RAM, 4TB of SSD, new keyboards, and more.
So we can expect Apple to pull something out of the bag at its annual Autumn tech showcase, potentially a redesigned Mac Mini with more powerful innards and USB-C connections, and a properly re-worked 12in MacBook that fills the gap the lack of new MacBook Airs leave. It comes with Apple's own T2 system on chip for security features, plus a True Tone Retina display that adjust the white balance based on the ambient lighting and viewing circumstances. They maintain the 500-nit maximum brightness and 100% DCI P3 coverage that have always been hallmarks of the modern MacBook Pro.
Plus, bumping the RAM from 16GB to 32GB adds another $400. Apple insists that the keyboard reliability issues only affect a tiny fraction of MacBook Pro users.
