On Monday, protesters gathered outside of the nail salon, New Red Apple Nail, at 1426 Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn, calling for the business to be shut down, according to PIX 11. Nail salon worker Li Lin claims that Thomas punched and slapped her in the face, and dragged her on the floor, causing lacerations to the face and substantial neck pain.
Witness Mercy Maduka, who posted a widely-shared video of the incident on Facebook, said the fight was sparked by a bad eyebrow job: "So I'm at the nail salon and they fucked up a lady eyebrow and she refused to pay then a fight broke outttt", she wrote, saying the employees hit the customers "like animals". "She went to the owner, she addressed the owner, says, 'Michael look at my eyebrows.' He said, 'I'll fix it for you.' She said, 'You can't fix it, call the cops, '" she said. Maduka, who originally posted the video, wrote on Facebook, "Share this cause the cops made a decision to arrest the black people but not the Chinese people who ganged up on them". Huiyue Zheng, 32, was charged with assault and weapon possession, while Christina Thomas was booked on misdemeanour assault and other charges.
Zhing was hospitalized with visible injuries to her face and body, and Thomas refused medical attention, according to police.More news: Huge: Nabil Fekir Speaks on Transfer after Liverpool Medical

She later posted the video on Facebook, where it has gone viral.
"There is no respect for people in this neighborhood", said 49-year-old Gavin Gibbs, a neighborhood resident, the New York Daily News reported.
Shamile Smiley McBroom added, "Video of a grandmother and patrons being hit with brooms does not deserve service". Do not waste your money here. "If you pay for a service and you don't like a service, it's a $5 eyebrow". The black women and the nail salon employees start pushing and shoving each other, causing the scene to devolve into chaos as one manicurist picks up a chair and begins swinging it. "He said 'I'll fix it, ' she said, 'you can't fix it'".
Following the incident, residents have protested the salon and have called for its closing.
