Spectacular footage captured at the scene of a California wildfire has laid bare the scale of the Holy fire disaster as well as the size of the operation being mounted to combat it. Forrest Gordon Clark, 51, was arrested earlier this week on suspicion of felony arson and making a threat to terrorize in connection with the ignition of the Holy fire.
The 51-year-old Clark could face 10 years to life in prison. "This shouldn't be called the Holy Jim fire, it should be called the Holy Hell fire", he said. "Every single person in this canyon is afraid of him".
Clark, he said, is an erratic, unsafe person whom Milligan flagged to federal and state officials on a regular basis.
Clark has reportedly had conflicts with his neighbors for years and sent an email warning, "This place will burn" to a volunteer fire chief last week...
"We know this district burns, but it should never burn because of an intentional act", Spitzer said. "I can handle a million right now easily", said Clark, clothed in a jail-issued orange jumpsuit. He is expected to appear in court Friday. His wife, children and dog had evacuated as the bright orange flames from the Holy Fire swept through the canyon, sending ash and billowing black smoke into his neighborhood.
The Holy Fire continues burning across Orange and Riverside counties, two of the state's most populous, and as of Thursday morning had scorched more than 9,600 acres - an nearly 50% increase from the night before.
It is far from the only blaze threatening the state, however.More news: Philly-Born Space Explorer Set to Become First "Corporate Astronaut"

Nielsen spoke Friday at a press briefing in Redding, California, to update the public on the Carr Fire in Shasta County.
He was a six-year veteran of Cal Fire. The fires have claimed tens of thousands of acres already and show little sign of slowing. And many on the left complain the president's systematic rollback of environmental protections will worsen climate change, which scientists say has contributed to the hot, dry conditions bedeviling California and other Western states.
'We are in great hands, the best in the world. Two other people - a state fire heavy equipment mechanic assigned to the fire and a utility worker trying to restore power near the fire- have died in auto accidents.
He said a line of fire retardant dropped on the hill above his house has so far checked the fire's advance, along with helicopter water drops.
And authorities don't expect the fight to get any easier.
