Bethesda have been strong supporters of the Switch and that continues today, with the announcement that DOOM Eternal, the follow-up game to DOOM is also coming to Nintendo Switch.

The day has finally arrived, today at Quakecon, the folks at id Software showed off the first gameplay footage from DOOM Eternal.

You can expect the gameplay trailer to be as fast and brutual as the original DOOM most likely, and to give us our first look at the game's setting to boot.

Sadly, no release for Doom Eternal was announced during the conference so it'd appear it's likely going to be a late 2019 release but that is, of course, just speculation.

The 2016 reboot of Doom is one of the most beloved and acclaimed FPS games of the modern era. Sporting a redesigned armour set and packing a new arsenal of chunky guns with which to turn the denizens of hell to bloody lumps, you'll have another fraught battle on your hands.

Obliterate more demons than ever before, each with their own attacks and abilities. The details of this system haven't been fully revealed at this time, but the team did reveal you will be able to assemble a party of demons to try and take down a player controlling the Doom Guy (a.k.a. the slayer). The overwhelming success of that effort has only amplified anticipation for the sequel, Doom Eternal.

At this point, there is still no official release window for DOOM Eternal.

As the Slayer, allow real players to invade your campaign as demons for a dramatic and unpredictable twist anytime you're playing the campaign. The demo saw Doom Slayer, in his new suit of armor, rampaging through a demon infested Earth in classic Doom fashion.
