Kim Kardashian visits Trump to talk prison reform

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian is turning into a true wonder woman.

Now back at the White House for a second visit, Kardashian West is spearheading efforts to seek clemency for another nonviolent drug offender, Chris Young.

The president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who favors prison reform, is attending the meeting with a few other White House officials and about a dozen individuals who are prison reform advocates.

"The discussion is mainly focused on ways to improve that process to ensure deserving cases receive a fair review".

Kardashian took her quest to have Johnson pardoned all the way to the White House. One week later Trump granted the 63-year-old clemency, freeing her from prison after a more than two-decade stint on drug charges.

Meanwhile, Kim may have made a career out of her looks and curvaceous figure, but she recently said she'd love to follow in her late father Robert Kardashian's footsteps and become a lawyer - and her team of legal advisors think she'd be good at it.

That's according to a White House official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to discuss the matter on the record. She is trying to convince Trump to feel the same way, to reform legislation so the punishment fits the crime.

She said Young was sentenced to life without parole, for possession of marijuana and half a gram of cocaine, because of mandatory-sentencing regulations. He was only twenty-six years old.

She appeared on a podcast Wednesday, "Wrongful Conviction", and talked about another prisoner who has attracted her attention.

Young was charged in December 2010, one of 32 people - including some gang members - who federal prosecutors said were involved in drug trafficking in Clarksville, Tennessee.

"It's scary when you have a minor drug charge but then you get life and you're stuck in this insane maximum-security prison with murderers and people [like that]", the 37-year-old reality star continued.
