Montgomery County prosecutors asked a judge on Monday to sentence Cosby to five to 10 years in prison for the 2004 sexual assault of Andrea Constand, saying he had shown "no remorse" for his actions. "The time has come", Judge O'Neill said.

Cosby doesn't plan to make a statement in court before he's sentenced for drugging and sexually assaulting a woman. The 81-year-old, once beloved as "America's Dad", was convicted five months ago of drugging and molesting Andrea Constand, a former university basketball administrator, the first celebrity hauled before court in the #MeToo era.
After the judge rejected a defense request to release Cosby on bail pending an appeal, he was slapped in handcuffs, and led out of the courtroom in his shirt and braces, his tie and blazer removed. She said she had been a "young woman brimming with confidence" before Cosby took that from her. Cosby did not testify at the trial and has spoken publicly only infrequently since his criminal trial began.
On Tuesday, a judge declared Cosby a "sexually violent predator," which means he will appear on a sex offender registry and must attend monthly counseling sessions for the rest of his life. He fined Cosby $25,000 (€21,300) and ordered him to pay the costs of the prosecution, calling Cosby's crime "very serious".
The sentence was delivered after Cosby had been ruled a "sexually violent predator". "He robbed me of my health and vitality, my open nature, and my trust in myself and others", she added in a five-page victim impact statement.
Constand says she now lives alone with her two dogs, "stuck in a holding pattern" as a middle-aged woman because she has trouble trusting people.
She has been plagued by overwhelming fear, self-doubt, and isolation, she said.
The judge said that Cosby "could quite possibly be a danger to the community".
While Cosby did not cooperate with the Assessment Board's review, it drew on investigation documents, trial transcripts, and law enforcement interviews with Cosby and other witnesses in the case.
"Bill Cosby took my handsome, healthy young spirit and crushed it", she wrote.
