While the Eagles were dealt bad news regarding Jay Ajayi, the signs are positive when it comes to Corey Clement.

The Eagles announced they placed Ajayi on the injured reserve, but did not give specifics on the injury.

One day after a brutal loss to the Minnesota Vikings, the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles were busy on the transaction wire. He also caught one pass for five yards.

Ajayi, who has 45 carries for 184 yards and three touchdowns, will miss at least eight weeks on IR but sources indicate he could miss the remainder of the season. Philadelphia could certainly fit the latter part of the bill, and the team was willing to trade a fourth-round pick to the Dolphins previous year for a lesser back in Ajayi.

This past weekend couldn't get much worse for the Philadelphia Eagles.

On a short week, the Eagles participated in a walkthrough practice Monday and while the injury report is just an estimation in such circumstances Clement was listed as a full participant. It's unclear if he's now torn that same ACL again or whether it's his other knee. It would take some doing on the part of the team, the player and his current squad across the state in Pittsburgh, but the delicious possibility became the talk of the league, at least online. At 2-3, there is some panic in the City of Brotherly Love that there is a Super Bowl hangover. If they were to add another running back, then they might have a decision to make.
