This is a political film and we would like to release it in the election time. The Accidental Prime Minister book was written by Sanjaya Baru who was former prime minister Manmohan Singh's media advisor between May 2004 and August 2008. Debutant director Vijay Ratnakar Gutte has helmed the film.
The film is slated to release on 11th January, 2019 and will be released in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu.
