- Police in Kentucky were at a loss for words after a box truck fire - filled with donuts - brought them to tears.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire shortly after, but the responding officers took the loss pretty hard.

Let's hope that these hardworking law enforcement officers get some more of their favorite sugary snack soon.

Doughnut distress that struck the Lexington Police Department earlier this week will be remedied by Krispy Kreme.

The New York Police Department told the Kentucky officers in a tweet, "Hang tight, we are sending backup forthwith, and these guys came prepared".

Chicago police wrote, "Condolences from Chicago".

"This literally hurts my soul. Prayers to LPD as they deal with this loss", said the Louisville Metro Police Department.

"We're thinking of you during this hard time...and have more doughnuts on the way!" the company tweeted Tuesday.

Krispy Kreme tweeted back in amusing fashion as well, writing, "We're thinking of you during this hard time...and have more doughnuts on the way!"
