Antonio Brown's cryptic response to owner's trade hint

Rumors began swirling about a disagreement between the receiver and the team's franchise quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, after Pittsburgh chose to make Brown inactive against the Cincinnati Bengals. But I will say all other options are on the table.Whether the situation can be reconciled and have him back on the team next year, we're a long way away from thinking that can happen.

Like clockwork, 49ers offensive tackle Joe Staley continued the team's efforts to recruit the WR, by tweeting a hand-waving emoji at Brown, in response to the receiver posting a picture of himself shaking hands with Rooney.

Rooney said the team will do its best to make things right with Brown, but it appears the damage has already been done. Another mid-round pick and a roster player would likely have to be part of the package as well.

If the Steelers were to trade Brown, the price tag would likely be high, according to NFL Network.

Perhaps the Colts or Jets, two teams flush with cap room, could place an inquiry.

The All-Pro receiver has unfollowed the organization on Twitter - as well as a number of other Steelers-associated media outlets - only ramping up the speculation around his future with the team.

The Steelers now have two months to figure it all out.

"The bottom line is we were playing a significant game and he didn't do a good enough job of communicating of being available in the hours leading up to that performance", Tomlin said at the time.

Rooney said in the interview that salary-cap implications would not "box us into anything".

Adding numbers alone won't solve the problems the Steelers had a year ago, but the fact Tomlin's considering structural changes is a sign that he realizes he needs to adapt himself.
