Some Congress members were noted saying that they will not let the movie release in the country due to the facts while BJP praised the work of the entire Accidental Prime Minister's makers by saying that the movie narrates the tale of a family who ruled the country for 10 years. This will be made in the future.

In his petition, Ojha complained that Anupam and Akshaye Khanna, who have played the role of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his press advisor Sanjaya Baru in the film, have damaged their image.

The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to accord urgent hearing on a plea challenging the January 7 order of the Delhi High Court which had disposed of a petition seeking to ban the trailer of upcoming movie, "The Accidental Prime Minister". The film was, however, screened in multiplexes in Chandigarh, around 130 km from here.

The veteran actor had been defending the content of his film after many people criticised it for hitting the theatres before Lok Sabha elections.

"We have never seen such a confused prime minister ever". Mr Kher, who has stood by the film and advocated for the accuracy of the depiction of the characters in strong words, referred to his portrayal of Dr Manmohan Singh as "my life's best performance". He had said, "For how long can we keep selling the poverty of India, the backwardness of India, the backward class of India, the class distinction in India, the elephants in India, the monkeys in India?" There is also talk of leaking of the political bets and screws of the film. In Indore, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists created a ruckus outside a multiplex.
