USA singer Chris Brown says a rape allegation against him is false, a day after the French prosecutor's office said he had been arrested in Paris with two other suspects.

French authorities released the "Ayo" singer on Tuesday evening following his arrest for an alleged rape and drug case in Paris. She is a 24-year-old model who met Brown at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Paris the night of January 15.

Chris - who has four-year-old daughter Royalty from a past relationship - shared a photo on Instagram which read "This B**** Lyin' " and added the caption: "I WANNA MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR".

In 2009, he pleaded guilty to assault after beating his then-girlfriend, pop superstar Rihanna; he served five years probation and several months of community service.

In May, Brown was sued by a woman who alleged she was sexually assaulted at his home by one of his associates in February 2017.

Chris Brown was accused of rape by an unnamed woman, and now, he is finally speaking out on the allegations, vehemently denying everything. Officials have two days to decide whether they will release Brown or file charges, the AP reports. They then went to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel near the Concorde Plaza in central Paris, where the grave incident took place.

Brown spent 2½ months in custody, with US marshals shuttling him between Los Angeles and the nation's capital for court hearings.

Brown's publicists at Sony Music wouldn't comment Tuesday on the complaint or say what Brown, 29, was doing in Paris.

Few details are known about the complaint against Brown and the other men, one of whom is a bodyguard for the singer.

In 2013, Brown was charged with misdemeanour assault after he was accused of striking a man outside a Washington DC hotel.
