Beck's head mastering engineer Emily Lazar announced she was the first female audio engineer to be nominated for a Grammy in 2015.

Women were strongly represented at this year's Grammys.
Ariana Grande - who had a public falling out with the night's executive producer, Ken Ehrlich, earlier this week over her choice of song, a year after Lorde was denied the opportunity to perform during the telecast - won best pop vocal album for Sweetener.
"This is going to be a special Grammys. As much as I'm nominated, I would not be anything without the village of women who are walking into their truth", she said. "This is a moment for women to love on each other and let each other know", she added.
Monae's "Dirty Computer" is one of five albums by women nominated for the top prize at Sunday's show. Taking the stage will be Camila Cabello, Yolanda Adams, J. Balvin, Cardi B, Chloe x Halle, Brandi Carlile, Katy Perry, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mark Ronson, Diana Ross, Arturo Sandoval, Travis Scott, St. Vincent, Young Thug, Andra Day, Miley Cyrus, Dan + Shay, H.E.R., Dolly Parton, Fantasia, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, Little Big Town, Post Malone, Ricky Martin, Maren Morris, Shawn Mendes, Janelle Monae, and Kacey Musgraves. The artist is up for a whopping six awards, for record of the year ("The Joke"), album of the year ("By The Way, I Forgive You"), song of the year ("The Joke"), best American roots performance ("The Joke"), best American roots song ("The Joke") and best Americana album ("By The Way, I Forgive You").
